STEP 1: Assess
Students will receive a grade-level and content-based 15-minute reading and writing activity to serve as an assessment for data.
The teacher will monitor the student and provide the necessary resources, tools, and instruction to complete the assessment.
STEP 2: Analyze Data
The teacher will review the answer or response with the students to identify the skill deficiency by tallying the number of mistakes or errors.
STEP 3: Design Instruction
The teacher will establish a personalized learning plan for the student to improve skills and practice for mastery. The learning plans are most effective in 4-week intervals. Every 4-weeks the student will engage in a new assessment to see improvement and preparedness for the exam.
